Welcome to Bright Sun Candles. We create
candles of excellent quality and ingredients, that are
also naturally-beautiful and environmentally
friendly. Bright Sun Candles are
hand-poured in St. Paul, Minnesota from the wax of
American-grown soybeans. Our candles are scented
with only essential oils. We use no artificial
scents and no dyes or artificial colors. Like all
soy wax candles, our candles are clean &
long-burning and made from a natural wax that is a
renewable resource. We invite you to
experience the natural beauty of Bright Sun
Candles.

Introducing Recycled & Soy
Crayons
We're creating crayons crafted from
recycled crayons and soy wax. These crayons
are a fun and sustainable way to spark
creativity.
Visit
us for ideas on how you and your family can
create unique artwork using recycled
materials. Use materials around your
home and neighborhood to
create textures and patterns with our
crayons. Tree bark, coins, bubble wrap,
bricks, leaves and more can be used to create
beautiful and unique art.

Green
Home Living Tip: Top Green Back to School
Tips
Get
Ready Before
hitting the malls or online shops in search of
green back to school gear, plan what you need. Do
you really need a new backpack, new lunch bag, new
everything or will last years stuff work just as
well? Just because the kids want new stuff doesn't
mean they need it.
Make a
List After you've
thought long and hard about what you need to buy,
be organized about it. Avoid last-minute impulse
purchases by making a list of what you need (and
sticking to it!) before you head to the store.
Following these steps will save materials as well
as your dollars.
Green Your
Wardrobe Almost
half of the money spent on back to school shopping
goes to buying clothes, but new threads don't have
to come with sticker shock. Hand-me-downs are a
great place to get started. Don't forget Goodwill
for vintage wear and your local Freecycle
community to swap.
Avoid
Bulk Don't be
tempted by the better deal on a dozen bottles of
glue if you know you'll only need three bottles
between now and next spring. If it doesn't have to
come out of the backpack every day think twice
about loading up at the beginning of the
year.
Green
Food The lunch box
is an important ingredient in your green back to
school plan. Make extra for dinner the night
before; leftovers make great lunches. Pack healthy
lunches kids will want to eat and get them
involved in choosing lunch ingredients. Your kids
will be less likely to pitch stuff they've chosen
for their lunch. Don't forget the reusable lunch
bag and smart packaging, like plastic containers
or recyclable tin
foil. |
