Welcome to Bright Sun Candles. We create
candles of excellent quality and ingredients, that are
also naturally-beautiful and environmentally
friendly. Bright Sun Candles are
hand-poured in St. Paul, Minnesota from the wax of
American-grown soybeans. Our candles are scented
with only essential oils. We use no artificial
scents and no dyes or artificial colors. Like all
soy wax candles, our candles are clean &
long-burning and made from a natural wax that is a
renewable resource. We invite you to
experience the natural beauty of Bright Sun
Candles.

Bright Sun Candles
uses only high quality essential oils to scent our
soy candles. Why do we so
this?
We think, and our
customers agree, that essential oils give a scent
that is more "pure" and that they smell less like
chemicals. In addition to smelling better,
essential oils have been used for centuries for
medicinal and healing practices.
Most
people know that lavender is well known for its
calming effect on the nervous system. But did you
know that essential oils can help with appetite?
Research from the Institute of Aromatherapy in
Toronto, Canada noted that smelling grapefruit oil
helps curb "sweet" cravings.
While there are of
benefits of using essential oils, there are some
possible negative effects that come from
artificial fragrances. There are more than 2,000
chemical substances used by the fragrance
industry, and most don't require any specific
labeling. Among these scary additives
commonly used in home fragrances are phthalates.
Phthalates are in the news a lot lately. They're
being banned from baby bottles and other plastics
due to concerns over hormone disruption. The
research is still being released and there are
different views on the potential hazards of
phthalates, but so far, the news isn't
encouraging.
So light a candle from
Bright Sun Candles, take advantage of the benefits
of essential oils and relax knowing our commitment
to keep our products natural, pure and
healthy. |

Green
Home Living Tip of the Month
Many
of us greet the new year with an urge to literally
start fresh, to clean out clutter and tackle those
pesky cleaning projects at home and at work.
Not that any of us need more items for our to-do
lists, but here are a few things to consider as
you navigate your urge to purge.
Wash
your reusable bags They
hang out in your trunk, are used to haul all sorts
of stuff and I'm sure they got a work out during
the holiday season. To be on the safe side, bing
them all in for a good wash. Turn them inside out
and wash according to manufactuers directions. No
washing directions? Regular cycle and hang to dry.
Freecycle Did
you know that there are people in your area that
want your old stuff AND will pick it up from your
house! Welcome to Freecycle, a community based
program where people basically give and take
unwanted items for free. Check it out and see who
might want those old cookbooks, too small
clothing, unwanted holiday gifts,
etc.
Crack
the Window If
you live in a colder climate, this advice at this
time of year might sound really strange. But
indoor air quality is important. On of the best
ways to make improve air quality in your home is
circulation of fresh air from outside. Crack a
window on a day when its not too cold. Prop open
the door as you're bringing groceries in this
week. The bit of heated air that escapes will be
worth it as you bring in fresh air you bring
in.
