Welcome to Bright Sun Candles. We create
candles of excellent quality and ingredients, that are
also naturally-beautiful and environmentally
friendly. Bright Sun Candles are
hand-poured in St. Paul, Minnesota from the wax of
American-grown soybeans. Our candles are scented
with only essential oils. We use no artificial
scents and no dyes or artificial colors. Like all
soy wax candles, our candles are clean &
long-burning and made from a natural wax that is a
renewable resource. We invite you to
experience the natural beauty of Bright Sun
Candles.

Citronella Candles for
Summer
The
warm weather is finally here! As we all spend more
time outside working, playing and relaxing, we are
quickly reminded of the not so great intruders of
summer; bugs.
As
the mosquitoes, black flies, etc start to intrude
on your plans, don't forget that Bright Sun
Citronella Shade candles are a great way to repel
these nasty insects.
The
essential oil of citronella has been used for
decades to successful repel mosquitoes, black
flies, fleas and ticks. It doesn't hurt the
insects at all, it just makes it harder and less
appealing for them to find you.
Our
citronella candles are a great option to help keep
the bugs away this summer.
*Keep
on on your deck or porch. The lid keeps it clean
and dry and the soy wax keeps it burning for
twice as long as paraffin candles.
*Toss
into your picnic basket. The all natural,
essential oil won't pollute your afternoon
and the tight fitting lid will keep the
candle safe and ready until you need it
for your next outing.
Citronella
Shade soy wax candles are natural, renewable and
easy. Just like summer should be.

Green Home Living
Tip
Vinegar is one of the best all around green
household products you can use. It's cheap,
versatile and environmentally friendly.
There are volumes written about all the
possible uses for this great liquid. For example,
did you know that you can use vinegar
to...
- Kill grass on walks and
driveways. Pour full strength on unwanted
grass.
- Kill weeds. Spray full strength
on growth until plants have starved.
- Freshen cut flowers. Add 2
tablespoons vinegar and 1 teaspoon sugar for
each quart of water.
- Prolong the life of flowers in
a vase. Add two tablespoons of vinegar plus
three tablespoons of sugar per quart of warm
water. Stems should be in three to four inches
of water.
- Deter ants. Spray vinegar
around door and window frames, under appliances,
and along other known ant trails.
- Relieve itching by using a
cotton ball to dab mosquito and other bug bites
with vinegar straight from the bottle.
- Relieve sunburn by lightly
rubbing it with vinegar. You may have to
reapply.
- You take 1 tablespoon full and
swallow when you have the hiccups. It stops them
instantly.
- Take grease off suede. Dip a
toothbrush in vinegar and gently brush over
grease spot.
- Remove tough stains. Gently rub
on fruit, jam, mustard, coffee, tea. Then wash
as usual.
- Freshen vegetables. Soak wilted
vegetables in 2 cups of water and a tablespoon
of vinegar.
- Boil better eggs by adding 2
tablespoons water before boiling. Keeps them
from cracking.
- Clean the microwave by boiling
a solution of 1/4 cup of vinegar and 1 cup of
water in the microwave. Will loosen splattered
on food and deodorize.
As
always, test areas on fabric and use caution with
all
suggestions. |
