Welcome to Bright Sun Candles. We create
candles of excellent quality and ingredients, that are
also naturally-beautiful and environmentally
friendly. Bright Sun Candles are
hand-poured in St. Paul, Minnesota from the wax of
American-grown soybeans. Our candles are scented
with only essential oils. We use no artificial
scents and no dyes or artificial colors. Like all
soy wax candles, our candles are clean &
long-burning and made from a natural wax that is a
renewable resource. We invite you to
experience the natural beauty of Bright Sun
Candles.

Soy Candles: The
Healthier Alterntive At Bright
Sun candles, we like soy candles for many reasons.
They're made from a renewable resource, burn twice
as long as parrafin candles and they're also are a
healthier candle option.
CNN recently reported on a study regarding
emissions from burning candles. Researchers at
South Carolina State University studied paraffin
and soy candles to determine their emissions.
They found that paraffin-based candles --
the most commonly sold type -- emitted toxic
chemicals like toluene and benzene. Soybean
candles did not, according to the study, which was
presented recently at the American Chemical
Society meeting in Washington, D.C.
More info on the study here.
This recent
research adds to other studies where soy has shown
to be a cleaner burning, way to relax and add
scent to your environment.
Bright Sun Candles are not only
made with soy wax, but contain no dyes, burn only
100% cotton wicks and are scented with
high-quality essential oils, not artificial
fragrances. So light a candle, and
relax knowing that you're making a healthier
choice.

Green Home Living Tip:
We're all looking for
ways to conserve energy and save dollars on
utilities. Here are a few creative ideas for a
positive impact on the environment and your
pocketbook.
One Candlelit Night Per
Week
It's romantic, fun
and inspires new conversation. If you've got kids,
how about turning off the TV one night and playing
a board game by candlelight? Clue would be
particularly spooky!
Draw
The Drapes
Close
your drapes when it gets dark outside. This will
help cut heat loss through windows at night.
Move
Furniture Away From Heating Registers. Blocking or
restricting airflow makes heating systems work
harder.
The light will reflect off two wall
surfaces instead of one.
Keep
Those Fixtures Clean
Dirty
bulbs don't give as much light.
Put
A Lid On It
When you put a lid on a pot or pan, heat is
trapped and food cooks faster. Dinner is done
sooner and less energy is used.
Maintain
An Oven-Cleaning Schedule
A dirty oven doesn't reflect heat as well
as a clean oven does. That means it takes more
energy to warm and maintain your desired
temperature.
Microwave When Possible. Because microwave
ovens cook food 75% faster, they use less energy
than conventional ovens.
Drying
Clothes Efficiently
If
your clothes dryer has an automatic cycle, use it.
Drying more than needed wastes energy and wears
out clothes. Check and clean your dryer exhaust
vent periodically. Remove lint after each
load. |
